the last few evenings, i have been working with Amarillo Little Theatre during their production, “Of Mice and Men”
this show is stunning. it’s a pure expression of art imitating life …
the cast is superb. and each character is unequivocally brought to life
“The story deals with two drifters, George and Lennie, with delusions of living off the “fat of the land,” who have just arrived at a ranch to work for enough money to buy their own place. Lennie is a manchild, a little boy in the body of a dangerously powerful man. It’s Lennie’s obsessions with things soft and cuddly that have made George cautious about who he associates with. His promise to allow Lennie to “tend to the rabbits” on their future land keeps Lennie calm, amidst distractions. But when a ranch boss’ promiscuous wife is
found dead in the barn, it’s obvious that Lennie, albeit accidentally, is responsible. George is faced with a moral question: How should hedeal with Lennie before the ranchers find him and take matters into their own hands?”
Director, Allen Shankles, boasts about the show being well deserving to “be seen by every theatre-lover in our area”
and i couldn’t agree more!
you can read more of Allen’s blog HERE
and if you’re in the Amarillo area make sure to come see this show. it runs through next weekend!

cast and crew: you leave me speachless. i emailed Allen earlier today and told him that this show was pure….
pure beauty, magic, talent, passion and life.
and i could never ever EVER do it justice
