well, well, well…
2009 has come to a close
it has been an AMAZING journey this year
the beginning of 2009 is COMPLETELY different from what it is now
every year, i total up the sessions from the year.
here is the tally for this year’s sessions:
16 maternity sessions, 17 babies, 43 children, 52 families
18 weddings, 31 engagements, 7 bridal sessions
6 boudoir sessions, 11 headshot sessions, 35 Graduates!!!
4 commercial shoots
4 Birthday Parties
1 50th Anniversary

that’s 222 sessions!!!!! 18 weddings, 1 MMA event, 4 parties, 1 event, and one anniversary
wow!!! that’s a lot of photography!!!!!
it’s no wonder that life has been such whirlwind!
sometimes things became overwhelming and i spent a lot of time in a bipolar ebb and flow
close family illnesses brought my family to its knees and we decided to re-evaluate our priorities
and in case we had forgotten what we had set our mind and hearts to do….
several months later, we experienced more shocking and FRIGHTFUL situations
that isn’t to say that we didn’t spend much time in laughter
that despite our losses, that we didn’t find great joy in our blessings
it isn’t to say that we didn’t have a great year
we simply had a year that made us put some thought into our everyday lives
a couple of years ago, Ali Edwards, a scrapbook goddess
asked us to choose one word that we would use as a reminder everyday throughout the year
keeping us centered
i have done this challenge for two years.
the first year being “life” and this year’s word was “faith”
for 2010… my word is
“FOCUS”
whether that means i’m focusing on my work
deadlines. goals. workflow.
or…
life. love. laughter. hugs. moments. memories
because those are all fleeting.
2010 is my year of FOCUS
i hope you all have a WONDERFUL New Year’s Eve!!!
right now, laken and i are out of town decompressing from the holidays
from the hustle
from the sounds
and just enjoying quality time in each other’s company

You were such a present person in my 2009! We had some pretty big events happen this past year and you were there to document them. I am so thankful for your work! You are incredible and talented and I love you to the moon. I am so thankful not only for your work, but for our friendship! I hope 2010 has just as many photo worthy events…and if not…bring on the wine!
